Train Space vs LinkedIn Learning, Udemy Business and Coursera
Checked 4 November 2026
LinkedIn Learning, Udemy Business and Coursera are large libraries: tens of thousands of courses on almost any topic, recorded once and refreshed on their own schedule. Train Space is the opposite shape. It covers the software your company actually runs, and the lesson changes when the software does, so what people learn matches the buttons on their screen this week.
| LinkedIn Learning, Udemy Business and Coursera | Train Space | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A library of recorded courses on many topics (LinkedIn lists 24,000+) | Courses on the tools your company runs, kept to the current version |
| When content changes | Not stated on their plan pages | When the vendor ships, renames or retires something |
| Proof of skill | Certificates, practice exams and assessments (Coursera has AI-proctored exams) | A server-scored check after each lesson, done on real work |
| Price | Quote or per user per year (Udemy Team covers 2 to 50 people) | AI essentials is free; the rest is per seat per year after a free evaluation |
| Covers every topic | Yes, from Excel to leadership | No. Software that changes fast, and the yearly security program |
Pick LinkedIn Learning, Udemy Business and Coursera if
- You want one subscription for every kind of professional skill.
- People need recognised certificates for their CV.
Pick Train Space if
- The skill you care about is using Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude or another app well this quarter.
- Recorded courses keep going out of date before people finish them.
- You need to know who can actually do the task, not who pressed play.
Questions
Does LinkedIn Learning cover Microsoft Copilot?
LinkedIn's plan comparison page doesn't mention Copilot or ChatGPT courses, and it doesn't say how often courses are refreshed. Search its catalogue for the tool you need and check the recording date.
Is Train Space a replacement for a course library?
Not for every topic. It replaces the part of a library that goes stale fastest: courses about specific software. Many companies keep a library for soft skills and use Train Space for their tools.
